Onyx Room is San Diego’s 1 nightclub and we’re absolutely owning the night scene so we thought it would be great to highlight other amazing spots in the Gaslamp District. As much as we love our neighborhood for the late night crowd we entertain, we also love this area in the daytime, and for pre-club drinks and dinner. There’s a never-ending list of places to love in Gaslamp, so we chose a few top picks to make your Gaslamp experience the best it can possibly be. 

Urban Outfitters is one of the best clothing store for ladies. Many women coming to Onyx like to browse this great shop for their club outfits.  There is nothing some cute heels can’t dress up! Horton Plaza Mall is also stocked with sexy dresses for a night on the town, as well as casual basics and wardrobe essentials. But Urban Outfitters, you can go wrong with! Everything they carry is a huge hit and they’re always getting new items in stock. Whether or not you’re planning a night out at Onyx, you’ll find something to love. 

Bub’s at the Ballpark is the best sports bar in Gaslamp, if not all of San Diego. It’s a great local spot to watch games and eat food. They have a huge deck to hang on so visitors can take advantage of San Diego’s weather as much as possible. The best part? Bub’s has an in-house basketball court and shuffleboard courts. If you like a little competition, this is a perfect activity for a fun date or a great place to grab beers with friends before or after a baseball game. Bub’s is a friendly place and has a great community vibe. 

Cafe 21 is an amazing restaurant for dinner before you go out. The food here is among our favorite in the Gaslamp area and we know you’ll be satisfied. Their small plates are phenomenal, and great for sharing—the Albacore Poke is unforgettable! Any meat or seafood dish at Cafe 21 is sure to win your heart. Water Grill San Diego is another choice food establishment in the Gaslamp area. You can enjoy a relaxed vibe here before your night out. If you’re out with a date, this is a great choice for dinner, with its dimly lit ambiance. Seafood is a fool-proof choice at Water Grill, with the crabcakes topping our list of items you should try. If you’re not a big seafood eater, the steak and chicken are always cooked to perfection.
